A herdshare is an agreement between a person and a farmer that makes the person interested in raw milk, a partial owner in the herd. The farmer will then care for the animals including milking, then meet with the person to pick up his percentage of the milk. This is the only legal way to obtain raw milk in Tennessee. Rebel Hollow farms has 2 herdshares available, a goat and a cow share. Scroll down for more information.

Our goats and cows live a peaceful farm life. They are in the fields with plenty of great grass. They are fed grain only while they are milking normally. Occasionally one may have a bit of trouble holding their weight and they will be pulled in every morning for a serving of grain, alfalfa, and some supplements. We use a bucket milking system to keep your milk clean. Currently, we are milking 12 goats, some are great milkers, many are first fresheners, some are just not great milkers but we love them anyway. Most of our goats are Nubians. Nubians have great butter fat in their milk which means it makes great cheese. You can exchange your milk shares for cheese. The details on what is available are listed below. We do have a few goats that are Nigerian Dwarf, a couple are fainters. Some are registered, some are not.
